Web design basics – Simple rules to design a website

1)    While designing an Event or e card site, the size of a page should not exceed 30,000 bytes.

2)    While designing General site, the size of a page should not exceed 40,000 bytes.

3)    The images that are used in a site should not exceed 20 Kb.

4)    In a site, there should not be a horizontal scroll bar.

5)    The images must be used from the Copyright free image bank or website.

6)    Site must be updated at regular intervals.

7)    You are responsible for your site, so there should not be any error in your site.

8)    The size of a banner should be 468 x 60 pixels.

9)    The size of a logo should be 120 x 60 pixels.

10)    The designer should try his best to reduce the size of a web page as well as all the images used in designing a website.

11)    The backup of all the web pages as well as the raw files should be kept properly so that they can be used whenever required

12)    Flash files (.swf) are mostly used for designing mantles (mostly used in e cards / greetings card websites homepage in top middle position) that are used to attract more visitors to your site.
